About Planned Pethood Taos

Planned Pethood Taos is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization. 
Founded in 2014, we helped provide avenues for free spay-neuter (s-n) for Taos Town/County/Pueblo residents' cats & dogs for 8 years. 
As of Feb 2022, we no longer will be directly arranging free s-n services for Taos cats and dogs, as we believe it is long past due for the Taos animal shelter, Stray Hearts, to be part of the upstream solution to pet overpopulation by providing free s-n for feral cats and low-cost s-n for pet cats and dogs.
Our website continues to provide a full compilation of free and low-cost s-n
and vaccine services available to Taos area residents.
The only way to solve the cat & dog overpopulation problem in Taos
is by spaying and neutering companion animals & feral cats
BEFORE they have a litter.
